Printed and marketed in an unspecified period between the distribution of Jungle set and the Fossil, Starter Gift Box falls into the host of gift products created by Wizards to introduce new children to Collectable Card Game of the Pokemon.
Its shape and content will make it one of the most desired products of winter 1999.
The Gift Box looks like a box of 20 x 24,5 x 6 cm.
The central design, with the classic Poke Ball open and bright, it is identical to the graphics we find in deck Starter 2 Players, with the addition of one of the most iconic depictions vintage vintage of Pikach "overweight."
A lot of importance is given to the classification logo Wizards "STARTER", which in this case is placed even central just above the main writing, to further indication of what this is kit kit kit it was recommended to start playing from scratch.
The sides of the box contain product codes Wizards accompanied by the rectangular logo typical of the very first products marketed. The presence of bar code and ISBN make us understand that the box was created to be sold in many copies, unlike other products for only purpose promotional as the Demo.
On the right and back side we find the list of products contained within it.
- 1 x Mazzo Starter 2 Players in English (No Shadowless)
- 1 x Play (game field)
- 1 x Mini Jungle Thematic Bouquet in English
- 1 x Jungle Expansion Package in English
- 1 x Plastic coin artwork Eevee
In addition, even if not listed in the list as, at the time, only accompanying object:
- 1 x Mini Poster with graphics and details of the first set products
The most particular object of this box is definitely the Jungle deck, as printed in a format that we only find in this package.

These are mats in reduced form identical to those in normal format, if not for logos of energy, in the mini Deck are placed at the top corners instead of under the writing Pokemon. Obviously an expert eye would be able to recognize them in the middle of many, even for other details such as the absence of the written "Jungle Theme Deck" or in general for the proportion of the artworks.
Although the Gift Box should present the same probability of finding both mats, it is opinion of many collectors the fact that deck Water Blast is more difficult to find, this theory is also confirmed by prices and availability on ebay.
For this reason I decided to show you the video of the opening of a mini deck Water Blast:
I mats in reduced form are contained only the block incellophanate with the 60 cards, no other guide, brochure or signal damage. This choice was probably adopted because of the secondary content already present in the deck Starter 2 Players included Boxing.
I finally leave you with this unboxing video of all the Boxing, where you can admire all the content I mentioned to you:
