In this article I want to talk about one of the most bizarre errors in the world of Wizards products of the 2000s: Black Triangle packages.
Wandering for the network you will certainly have come across English basic set packages like this:

The answer is simple: the triangle is used to cover an error. About why they have it, we try to rebuild.
In 1999 the printing of these pack it was hectic, there was no minute to lose because the request of bags was growing, given the success of the first press (Shadowless). In this case, however, the rush has led to an inevitable error, so loved by collectors Today.
The layout used to produce these pack, intended to contain Unlimited cards, it was wrong, it contained the symbol of First edition (Edition 1st).
Initially they did not notice this error, the pack were very similar to foreign language editions that were simultaneously printed on other lines, but the fatal difference was in the English language. I packages with the new peculiarity were then inserted into normal booster box from 36 packs, making the booster Black Triangle impossible to detect if not physically opening a box. This golden ticket by Willy Wonka, combined with the great amount of Base unlimited English (Blue Wings) remaining Sealed, favored mass opening.
